First Line Fridays - The Captured Bride

April 24, 2020

Happy Friday Friends!!

It's First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books . A fun way for all of us to share the first line of any book nearby! Today I am sharing the third book in the Daughters of the Mayflower series The Captured Bride by Michelle Griep. If you haven't read any of these books I highly recommend them especially if you like historical fiction. They are amazing and don't really have to read them in order (which I am typically a stickler for).

My First Line:
"It ain't right, You ain't right."

You definitely should pick this book up!

Your turn! Grab the book nearest you and post the first line in the comments below!

  1. Happy Friday! I loved The Captured Bride! Today I'm sharing the first line from Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock: "He left me for a size-two selfie star and didn't want me to make a scene."

  3. Happy Friday!
On my blog I'm sharing from Being Known by Robin Jones Gunn. It's such an EXCELLENT story. Currently, I'm reading Hadley Beckett's Next Dish by Bethany Turner. I'm just getting into chapter 2 so I'll share a line from there.
    "Meemaw? Are you home?"
Hope you have a great weekend. Happy reading! 🙂

On my blog this week, I shared the first line from The Number of Love by Roseanna M White:

      It was a great story!

I have not read any of Roseanna White books but I have heard great things! I need more hours in a day so I can get more reading done! :)

  5. Happy Reading! So sorry for the late comment, I am juggling supporting my Resource students from home, while homeschooling my own daughter, and now school is closing one week early so I have even less time to finish IEPs and paperwork! In a couple weeks I will (hopefully) be much more prompt!

    1. Hi! Oh goodness no worries at all! I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to be at home as a public teacher during this time. But I can totally relate to working and homeschooling at the same time! I have been there and its difficult but you got this! Thanks for stopping by! :)
