Monday Musings ~ "Cleaning House"

July 27, 2020

Hello Friends!!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. You know when you move into a new place and you are so excited and formulate all these plans/projects you want to accomplish but then life happens and you push them to the back burner? Yeah, I have lots of rooms in my house that need to be worked on! LOL!

When we moved a year and half ago to NC and to our new house I saw all the possibilities of things I wanted to do. But then life began to get busy and things got pushed back or just forgotten. Then COVID emerged and since we had no place to go it gave me the opportunity to "clean house" so to speak. I have gotten rid of so much stuff that were just not needed. I have come to a point in life that I can't stand to have stuff just to say I have stuff...does that make sense?

The kids room got an overhaul a few months ago and so did our bedroom and closets! So much stuff was given away!! It feels amazing to be a little lighter and a whole lot more organized. They still need some paint on the walls but at least they aren't cluttered with junk.

This weekend we started working in our homeschool room. That's the one room I had not touched since we moved and it needed it badly. First it definitely needed an update. The walls were plain and although we have posters and artwork it just needed coat of paint. I was getting tired of seeing the same things every day plus the storage situation was driving me a bit zany so that is something that I need to work on.  So this weekend we painted and tomorrow I will start to de-clutter and get rid of the things we no longer need. So stay tuned for next Monday and I will post pics of before and after of our school room/my office!

Have you been decluttering since being at home more? Is there a room in your house  you feel needs some work? Let me know!!

  1. I like to declutter all the time but I seem to be unable to let go of things, even things I don't ever use. Why people cling to things, that's a mystery, well, not really. I think we are sentimental beings, that's why. But it's always good to clean or clear out any space in your home if only so you can find that one thing that you need, instead of moving things aside to get to it.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. It's hard sometimes to let go of stuff so I completely understand! Sometimes its just good to clear things up and start anew! At least that's my hope with the homeschool clean out! Especially since it seems like we are spending more and more time indoors :(

      Thanks for stopping by!
