Abigail Pressman would never have guessed that love notes penned on paper hearts by an anonymous couple could restore her belief in love. As a business owner in a quaint town at the base of the Rockies, she's poured everything into dreams of expansion . . . and resisting the matchmaking efforts of the Valentine Volunteers, who gather in her store to continue Loves Park's tradition of stamping mail with the city's romantic postmark.

When Abigail is unwillingly drafted into the Volunteers, she encounters the paper hearts, a distraction that couldn't come at a worse time. A hard-to-read doctor has become Abigail's new landlord, and he's threatening to end her lease to expand his practice.

As she fights a growing attraction to this handsome man crushing her dreams, Abigail is inspired to string the hearts in her store, sparking a citywide infatuation with the artsy trend. But when a new batch of hearts reaches the Volunteers, it appears something tragic has happened to the couple. Will uncovering their story confirm Abigail's doubts about love, or could it rescue her dreams . . . and her heart?

What a lovely story! This was my first by Courtney Walsh and I must say I really enjoyed her writing. The beginning definitely gave me some You've Got Mail vibes, of course I was somewhat sold because that is my all time favorite movies but this book turned into so much more than what my assumed expectations were.

How can you not love when the main character owns a bookstore? Abigail is our main character and she owns the bookstore and has high hopes of expanding that is until Jacob comes into town and decides to buy the building next to her, yes the very one she was seeking to expand on, to open up his medical practice. Jacob comes with his own set of hurts and even though he swears he is not ready for a relationship he is very drawn to Abigail and feels bad that he has taken this expansion opportunity away from her.

I was deeply involved with the characters. It had all the feels for me. I mean I chuckled is some parts, got angry and I got emotional in others. The hurts that both Abigail and Jacob were going through just got to me. Tissues were definitely needed in some parts. Some of the characters were not memorable to be and some felt like there could of been a bit more of to their story or back story like her mom Teensy... but maybe I am getting ahead of myself and I will find out more when I read the second book.

My Rating: 4 Stars/ Really Liked it
